High Idle After Warm Start on TDI Engine

'For a few weeks now, I've been having a problem with my Golf (year 2000) with an 85KW PD-TDI engine and approximately 90,000 km. After a warm start, the idle speed increases to 1400-2000 RPM (of course, without me pressing the accelerator pedal ). This process lasts for about 5-30 seconds. Afterwards, everything returns to normal... The 2000 RPM has only occurred once, but 1400 RPM is a regular occurrence. This wasn't happening before. Do you have any experience that could help me?'

Did you have the error memory read out?

No, I haven't had that done yet, but I have an appointment at the workshop soon for the 90,000 km inspection. I'm wondering whether I should even mention it to them, because they don't exactly give me a very competent impression. Last time, when the ESP light was occasionally coming on and I reported it during the inspection, they replaced all the sensors and the brake force regulator... . It was quite an expensive experience.

If you have a workshop that claims to be "qualified" but immediately tries to charge you for everything, you should seriously consider whether you want to go there.

What did you pay for that?
