Which one of them is 'better'?
insurance!?
processing!?
consumption!?
I wasn't sure exactly where I should post this.
Best regards.

The Seat Leon comes standard with a 1.9 TDI engine producing 160 horsepower.
He even undercuts both of them in price.
Otherwise, I only drove on the A3 highway at a speed of 140 km/h.
He made a strong impression on the straightaways, especially when accelerating out of corners at speeds of 60-80 km/h. I expected more from the highway driving. It seems to lose power around 180 km/h. However, the fuel consumption was fantastic, under 6 liters per 100 km, given my driving style. B.Eng (FH) u. KFZ Meister

'So, there isn't a Leon with 160 horsepower as a standard model; you probably meant the Ibiza Cupra TDI.'
'Personally, I don't find the 140 hp TDI in the A3 very convincing. My ASZ engine performed noticeably better even without tuning. It's probably not just the extra weight of the A3 compared to the Ibiza. However, a more powerful version is supposed to be coming, and the 2.0 TDI is also more modern, not to mention the Euro 3/Euro 4 emission standards.' Overall, if my budget allows, I would go for the 2.0 TDI.

I personally don't find the 140 HP TDI in the A3 very convincing; my ASZ engine performed significantly better even in its un-tuned state, and it's probably not just the extra weight of the A3 compared to the Ibiza.
It just feels that way. These engines don't really have much power. The older TDI engines have a much bigger turbo boost. The 2.0-liter engine is very 'smoothly' tuned and accelerates more gently, which is why it doesn't feel as extreme.

I took the 2.0 TDI engine for an extended test drive in both the A3 and the Golf.
Conclusion: In the A3, the 6th gear is a true economy gear, while the 5th gear is geared the same as in my older A3. To overtake, I have to use the 4th gear because the 5th gear doesn't provide enough power. However, mine (110 hp with chip) never leaves any doubt that the 5th gear is always the right choice. Overtaking uphill - no problem! Downshifting? No, thank you.
In the Golf, the same engine performed noticeably better, but still not as I'm used to. The fuel consumption display in both vehicles made me feel dizzy. Below 7 liters was absolutely boring, but with a more aggressive driving style, it sometimes reached 9 liters or even more.
I can't say for sure whether the vehicles I drove were representative, but the mere fact that vehicles are delivered in such a condition makes me hesitant to consider a new purchase. What if you get a carrot like that?
