If the keyless entry system of a Passat or Superb is malfunctioning, you can still open the vehicle. The lock is located on the driver's side, hidden under the cover behind the door handle.
First, the protective cap needs to be removed.
This is done as follows:
- Remove the emergency key (3C) or unfold it (3T).
- Insert the key into the slot at the bottom of the cap.
- DO NOT lever or rotate!
- simply press upwards.
- The latch releases the cap, and you simultaneously attach it to the key.
After that, the driver's door can be unlocked using the (spare) key.
A potential engine stall will occur, but this will be resolved by inserting the key into the ignition switch.
