Hello fellow enthusiasts,
Since I replaced the internal components of my Bosch Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor with a 1N4148 diode and the error code no longer appears, I actually don't want to have a MAF sensor anymore. Unfortunately, with the V6 engine, the replacement intervals are so short due to the disregard of all operating instructions from Bosch that, as a rule of thumb, you have to replace the MAF sensor every 10-15 tankfuls. Now I'm wondering which measurement parameters reputable tuning box manufacturers like Authal use to calculate the amount of diesel to inject. Is it the reported air mass? If so, I could forget about the diode + box combination because I probably wouldn't be seen anymore. I've now seen some photos of Authal boxes on e..y, and it looks more like they're tapping into the boost pressure (with rubber hoses and filters, etc.). Does anyone have any reliable information about this?

Hi,
Thank you for the response. I had already suspected as much. However, since my car isn't the newest model, I'm not sure if the same applies to older models.

Hello,
I described in a thread how you can also use the boost pressure signal very effectively as a control signal with a Speed-Buster box, especially when using a diode instead of a mass airflow sensor (MAF).
These speed-buster boxes are likely manufactured to the same specifications as those from Alpin. There are three spindle trimmers available, labeled with "I", "S", and "T", and they can be purchased in bulk on the Eb*y platform.
