Hello,

My turbocharger seems to be leaking oil. Unfortunately, there's not only oil in the intake system, but also deposits of unknown origin. In some areas of the intake manifold, particularly in the corners, there are deposits up to 5mm thick.

Possibly exhaust fumes or fine dust? After cleaning with brake cleaner, I believe it's diesel soot.

Does anyone else experience this problem? What are the potential consequences? What is the cause? The intake valves are also clogged.

He was running at full throttle in idle, suddenly became louder, experienced a loss of power, and has been emitting a little blue smoke since then.

Best regards,

Manu.

Hi,

Read the technical article about the AGR (Abgasrückführung). These deposits are diesel soot that gets there via the exhaust gas recirculation system – a completely normal process, because the AGR system introduces a certain amount of the engine's own exhaust gases back into the engine at partial load.

Cleaning up is still a very good idea.

Best regards,

Jan.
