I can't understand you completely. I haven't had any issues starting my Golf (ATD 74kw) at all, and I haven't had any other starting problems either. My fuel consumption is okay, but unfortunately, I don't have any figures because I don't have MFA and I've never filled up completely. I usually drive in a way that I shift before the big surge (i.e., from the point where it's fun), and I don't have any problems driving at 50 in 5th gear. The only thing that's rattling is some plastic inside the interior...
Similar good experiences as Hati.

What surprised me the most was that you can drive at speeds below 1000 without any jerking or vibrations.

As long as it's just a gentle hill, my ASV can handle it in fourth gear and neutral. "It does vibrate a bit (it's not a 6-cylinder engine), but there's no jerking."

This also applies to my ASV. At a speed of 930/min - 41km/h up to 2265/min - 100km/h (speedometer reading 107) in 18s. No jolting, no rumbling, no noticeable vibrations.

Hi,
after so many others, I also want to add the same (new spelling) battle:
My old ALH also ran/operated much smoother than my new AXR. I had been thinking about this a lot and wondered if they only made cars for the elderly.
Clearly, they have been listening.
The new one reminds me a lot of my old G2 GTD, which had 80 horsepower. It also took a while before it really performed well. And that's how it is now again, how wonderful.
What I, however, find annoying is the constant fiddling with the instruments. The speedometer shows too high a reading, and the multi-function display shows too low a reading. 130 km/h is actually 120 km/h, and a fuel consumption of 6.2 liters is actually a real consumption of 6.4 liters.
Can it actually be compared using adaptation?
Greetings
Eike

Hi,
the MFA is safe, there are adaptation channels... at some point we had that. The speedometer probably isn't, it must show too much.
Maybe it would be a good idea to measure the exact wheel circumference and install a bicycle odometer as an additional instrument; they can be adapted to almost anything...

Hi Jan,
I simply adjust the speedometer by driving a little faster than the legal limit.
I first took the new car to the ADAC and had the speedometer checked (it's free of charge). This revealed a deviation of around 7%. While this is okay, it's not really great. That means that if he's showing 188 km/h on his speedometer, he should actually be traveling around 202 km/h.
He does it after 2700km, but not yet. According to experience, TDIs typically require around 15-20,000 km to fully break in.
Greetings
Eike

Well, this noise doesn't make me addicted. I find it more annoying. But it could also be because it was a 4-year-old 530d with an automatic transmission.
