Good day.
I was wondering if the turbocharger from a 110 horsepower engine would fit on a 1Z engine. The 1Z engine has an ECU chip. I don't know the engine code for the 110 horsepower engine.

Cisco.

I don't think that's quite right.
To convert a 1Z engine to an AFN, you need a bit more than just that. I think you'll need the engine control unit (ECU), turbocharger, fuel injection pump, and injectors.

You should probably ask a specialist or post here again.

Greetings.

Hi.

You can modify the turbocharger!
Then you'll need a different exhaust manifold, you'll have to adapt the EGR connections, and you'll need a second control valve for the turbocharger (or you can use the one from the EGR system – which nobody needs anyway, since they're the same). The downpipe is also different. As far as I know, the fuel injection pump is larger, and so are the injectors. And finally, there's a different engine control unit because the turbocharger operates with negative pressure rather than positive pressure.
I think you can probably skip the pump and injectors and just adjust the tuning box a bit. But you definitely need everything else.

The AFN engine also has other valves and stronger bearings.

Best regards,
The Golfman.

As I understand it, he was asking if he could simply bolt the turbocharger from an AFN engine onto his 1Z engine, not whether he could convert his 1Z to an AFN. It's likely that he wanted to know if using the AFN turbocharger as a direct replacement is possible without major modifications.

Hi.

Objection:

1. Every driver who wants to legally drive around without a specific type approval needs an EGR solenoid valve.

2. The engine control unit monitors whether both valves are stuck; if they are, error codes will be generated.

3. The valves are not always the same; some have black caps and others have white caps, and they differ in their cross-sectional area for the vacuum path.
Therefore, this results in different response characteristics for each respective control loop icon_idea.gif.
