Hi!
Is it possible to open and close the windows of my Passat 3B, manufactured in 1998, by pressing the buttons on my remote control?
It also works by inserting the key into the door lock.
Best, Björn.

Best regards, Chrishttp://www.volkswindow.com/
Thanks, Chris, but I wasn't asking where I can buy it; I wanted to know if there's a way to use the EXISTING remote control for that purpose.
I thought there might be a setting somewhere in the remote control unit's programming that could be changed using VAG-COM...
Best, BiBi.

Hello,
I thought that at VW, it was standard that if you held the button down for a longer time, the windows would automatically go up.
I might be wrong.
Best regards.

As far as I can tell from the wiring diagrams of my Golf, the central locking 'up' and 'down' functions each have their own separate wires, and the comfort function (remote control) also has its own separate wire, so the function with the key in the door lock and the remote control are separate.
Are there versions of the Passat where the cable or the function itself was simply not present?
My Golf had an electric sunroof installed. With the retrofitted Votex remote control and the original central locking system, the sunroof also had the convenience function, without any other modifications.

Hello Björn.
Are the elFH series standardly pre-wired?
'On my Passat 35i from 1994, the remote central locking system also works with the ElSD.' But only in the direction TOWARDS.
'Up' does not appear to be connected on the elSD.
The corresponding details for the windows are also included in the circuit diagram.
I'll take another look at that.
greetings

Hello Micha,
Hello Björn.
Are the elFH series standardly pre-wired?
Okay, I think I have the Highline trim level. It has ELFH (electric folding mirrors) front and rear.
When I move the key in the ignition, I can raise and lower all the windows, but not with the remote control.
Best, Björn.

'I'm also interested because I have the same problem. I have an extra button on my remote (for alarms) that I can connect to a relay. I was thinking of buying a relay that holds the contact for 10 seconds and then turns off. That would be like turning the key for 10 seconds. I could then connect it to the ignition switch contact, and that would be it.'
'But isn't there perhaps a setting, like a 'door lock at 15 km/h' option, that you could enable?'
'Thank you.'

We're working on it...
In my plans, the door lock itself (as a component) is not directly connected to the control unit. According to the wiring diagram, it's controlled via the contact in the actuator motor. I haven't opened the door yet, so please correct me if that's not the case.
Here's the translation:
'It is certain that the centralSTG and the doorSTG communicate exclusively with each other via CAN. This means that the comfort function via the key is purely a matter of software implementation...'

Well, some kind of connection must be there, one way or another... right? Hmm... It would be interesting to know if there's anything you can adjust in the software. I mean, simply extending a pulse duration shouldn't be a problem, should it?
'Thank you.'
