It can also apply to ignorant workshops that insist on filling with an oil that is not approved, so that the engine 'likes' it...

If the honey is still good (the cross-hatching is clearly visible) and you can't feel the piston ring wear too prominently with your fingers at the top dead center, I would only replace the pistons and rings. Why would reboring the engine cylinder be better?
In the picture, it's not clearly visible, but it appears that the piston crown of the broken piston has a much rougher surface and more deposits in the center compared to the piston on the right. I would replace the injector nozzle as a precaution.
