Could it be that more fuel is injected when using fuel with a higher viscosity (thicker, lower temperature)? If so, why?

With a higher viscosity, the leakage losses in the pump are lower, which slightly increases the injected amount.

Actually, the relationship is the opposite at that temperature. As the temperature increases, the density and viscosity of the diesel decrease, so the injection amount needs to be increased to maintain the power output. That's why the temperature is measured in the pump.

Since the viscosity is not measured, this parameter cannot be controlled or taken into account.
