Hello,

I wanted to ask if this has already been discussed, or if it hasn't been yet.
I can't find anything using that search.

Sind die Spur und Sturz Werte am Golf 3, egal ob ein normaler - ein TDI od. ein GTI/16V od. VR6.
Are we all the same, or are we all different?
If there are differences, where do they lie? What tolerances should be considered when working with a VR6 engine?

Today, I went with a friend to get a wheel alignment. The people at the workshop said that all the values were the same, even though the GTI, 16V, and VR6 models were listed separately in the computer. We wanted the technician to select the VR6 values to compare them, but he refused and said, 'These or nothing!'

Please give me some advice!
Best regards,

Hello golfschrauber1981,
Thank you for your reply!
So, did they essentially use incorrect values for the Golf VR6, or what?
'Because he used to have the standard suspension, but now he has a lowered suspension with a drop of 50mm at the front and 40mm at the rear!'

Should we insist that they re-measure it, or should we just go somewhere else and complain about it later?

Does anyone have the specified values for the Plus suspension and the standard suspension for comparison?

I would be happy if that were possible, as then we could compare the values with our own measurements!

Um, yes, the Golf 3 VR6 is from 11/96, model year 1997, and it's front-wheel drive. icon_redface.gif
