Hello forum,

This is my first post today, after having read a lot here for a long time. icon_wink.gif

My question:

I drive a 1998 Seat Toledo with an AFN engine and a Speedbuster tuning box. I want to slightly increase the boost pressure, aiming for approximately 0.15 bar. I was thinking I could achieve this with a 22kOhm resistor. Or, as described in this forum, should it be an 18kOhm resistor (0.1 bar) or a 27kOhm resistor (0.2 bar)?

My car has a boost pressure gauge, which means I can easily monitor the increase in pressure.

Regards,

As a first approximation, you are likely correct with 22k for 0.15 bar.

The specifics of how this all works in practice are a different matter. But you can easily monitor it using LDA -> so just try it out, and during test drives, be very careful and gradually increase the pressure with your foot to feel for the maximum pressure.

Hello Ulf,

Thank you for your reply!

I'm going to try a 22kΩ resistor today.

I had my brother-in-law (an electrician) solder a 27kOhm resistor in yesterday. I now have approximately 1.5 bar as an overshoot and 1.1 bar set as the regulated pressure. The smoke development during acceleration is now practically non-existent! icon_wink.gif

I won't be spinning the rod for now. Even though the overhanging parts are quite substantial.
