Hello,
I want/need to replace my injectors and needle lift sensor – let's see if that eliminates the bad misfire. I have one needle lift sensor with the VAG part number: 028 130 201 J, and three injectors with the VAG part number: 028 130 201 G.
Now, to my question: Can I install this combination, a needle lift valve with a 'J' at the end and nozzles with a 'G'? What do these letters actually signify? The numbers match, after all.
Passat Variant TDI, year 1994, 90 horsepower, 1Z engine.
Bye.
Jens.

Hello Jens,
While I don't have an answer to your question, before you replace the injectors at an expensive cost, have you already reviewed the numerous posts on the topic of engine misfires and the factory service manual? If not, you should do so, as it might save you a lot of money on incorrectly replaced injectors. Search term: 'misfire AND 1Z'.

It might fit.
See http://www.bosch-automotive.com/ecat-online/.
The letter is very important and is part of the part number. The numbers are often the same for many nozzle holders.
Just like Marko, I'm skeptical that this will solve your problem. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

Are the nozzles new?
What's the mileage on your tractor?
It might be time to consider exchanging the old ones for new ones if they are old enough.
But you probably won't be able to get rid of the stuttering with that.
If the nozzles are new, I might also be able to use them .

Hello,
My TDI has 340,000 km on the odometer. The injectors and sensors I want to install are not new. They come from two different TDI cars that were involved in accidents and each had approximately 100,000 km. That's also why they have different letters indicating their origin.
I also went to VW because of the misfiring. They supposedly tested the needle lifter and the injectors and told me that I should replace everything. I already did the simple test where you bring the engine up to about 2000 RPM and then gently tap the needle lifter, and the engine sputtered quite a bit during that test. That's why I believed the VW workshop foreman when he said the needle lifter was defective.
For the used nozzles and injectors, I made the decision for economic reasons. In a Passat that was 11 years old and had 340,000 kilometers on the odometer, I didn't want to invest another approximately 1000 euros. The used set only cost 150 euros.
@ wolfi_b
Thanks for the link, I just took a look.
Die mit dem 'J' am Ende haben einen Öffnungsdruck von 190 bar und die mit dem 'G' 191 bar. Macht das eine Bar etwas aus? Umsonst wird es solche feinen Unterschiede wohl nicht geben. Or?
Bye.
Jens.

No!
The nozzle with the needle lift actuator has this number:
028 130 201 J
and the remaining 3 nozzles have this:
028 130 201
It's always like that! The main nozzle (NHG) and the other nozzles can't have the same part number, they are different parts! 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

You can get the injectors for 80 EUR each when they are "remanufactured" by Bosch.
They will then install a new interior.
That's at least what the preliminary information from my Bosch dealer told me - so it's still possible that they can't do it, or that it will be much more expensive.
Replacement nozzles cost €100 at VW for standard nozzles and €196 for NHG nozzles.
The prices are fixed.
So, definitely not the numbers you mentioned .

Okay, so I asked the dealer about it two months ago, and they quoted me around €1000 (about €400 for the NHG).
And I think that "191" is probably a typo. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

400 EUR is the price for a NEW nozzle.
I was talking about replacement parts!
However, it is possible that there are no AT parts available for the older 1Z (182 Nm) engine - but this does not affect either Jens or me .

The 182 NM 1Z has the same nozzles as the 202 Nm! Only earlier models (I believe up to 6/92) had spring-loaded nozzle holders.
I was told that there are no replacements available anymore. I received an immediate response from Bosch customer service. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

That's exactly what I meant.
One says one thing, the other says something else.
My information is, if at all, only slightly older than 2 months.
But I can always ask again and then start a barter transaction.
