VW Passat 1.9 TDI: Install Intercooler

Hello.

Is it possible to equip a Passat B35i, manufactured in October 1996, with a AAZ engine with an intercooler? If so, what performance gains would it provide, and would this modification be harmful to the engine? I'm considering this because I often have to tow a trailer. If I were to do this, would I need to have the modification registered with the TÜV (German technical inspection agency)?

And one more thing, the car now has 265,000 kilometers on the odometer. Do you think that's still okay for the engine, or should I be worried about the mileage? I don't want the engine to give out within the next 10,000 kilometers.

You should be more concerned about hair loss and thinning hair now, especially if you're not using any hair loss treatments.

My former JR (engine) didn't show any issues at around 285,000 km, and neither did the AAZ at around 180,000 km.
