Yes, this hood, finished in a sophisticated black and made of high-quality plastic, is indeed striking in its beauty and serves as an eye-catcher in the otherwise barren engine compartment. Opening the hood will be a pleasure for years to come! *ahem*
It was probably a somewhat misplaced precursor to the engine covers that are now commonly found everywhere, designed to prevent people from noticing leaks or other issues.

I just remembered something else (even though it's annoying):
Is it actually difficult to retrofit this engine bay lighting, which was probably available as an option?
There's already space for a lamp in the insulation pad under the hood. I'm just wondering if the cables are already in place?
(I don't have much time to remove the insulation pad right now).
