Hello,

I'm having a problem reading and logging data from the mass airflow sensor (MAF) in a 1995 Audi A4 1.8L ADR.
If a measurement value (MWB) is labeled with "speed," for example, it is possible that the value is given in g/s and does not correspond to the actual speed icon_eek.gif icon_question.gif. In another MWB, the mass flow rate (LMM) might be indicated with "ms," etc.

Is VAG-COM too new for this vehicle, or is the vehicle too old for VAG-COM? Or do I have a problem with the software or hardware, or is the issue related to the vehicle's control unit?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Sebastian.

Hi Sebastian,

Could you please provide the complete VAG part number of your control unit?
Reason: Using the VAG part number, VAG-COM searches for a suitable label file for your control unit. This file, among other things, defines the names of the fields in the measurement blocks (it is a text file).
If a label file is not found, VAG-COM attempts to guess the type of the values, which can of course lead to errors.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hi,

No, the chassis number doesn't help icon_smile.gif. The VAG part number of the respective control unit is displayed directly in the first screen on the left side in VAG-COM when you access the control unit.

Best regards, Rainer.

You can also try searching on Google (e.g., next week).

Hi Sebastian S.,

You don't need to post anonymously to draw attention to files that were requested and created on August 3, 2005. Especially if you consider time zones...

icon_lol.gif

Okay: Sebastian S. has updated the link at Ross-Tech and added some files.
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/download/label-files/8D0-907-557-ADR.lbl
Either save the file using your VAG part number, or copy the entire directory to your label directory (make sure to back up and empty the directory first).
Since the .zip file is from April, the easiest way is to use 'wget' or a similar tool.

Best regards, Rainer.

Yes, but then he should update everything, so the entire label directory. It's just more work, and eventually, there will be another update from me where I'll repackage the installation.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,

It's nice that you're so concerned about my label files! icon_mrgreen.gif

I now have the link. Do I need to save the old labels, delete them, and then save the new ones? icon_rolleyes.gif

By the way, I have VAG-COM 504.1, so it shouldn't cause any problems!

Thank you for your efforts icon_razz.gif icon_exclaim.gif.

Sebastian.

Hi,

There are several ways to handle this, but the simplest would probably be to rename the existing label directory and use the zip file as the new 'label' directory.

Best regards, Rainer.
