Have you already tried swapping the drive shafts just for testing purposes?
They can often be the cause of rattling noises or vibrations when accelerating.
Either there's too much play, or the joint is fractured internally. B.Eng (FH) u. KFZ Meister

I had a wonderful experience last night.
Just before a curve, traveling at approximately 30 km/h, I heard a sound from the front right side that resembled the noise of trying to engage a gear that wasn't fully in place.
The jerking is now happening at all speeds.

You've found the cause now, my condolences...
But only after 60 kilometers, the joints start to close .
Were the joint capsules intact the entire time, though?

Sorry, I'm not an expert.
If someone could tell me how to check this or something, I could quickly look it up.

Is there any chance of getting some goodwill from VW? The car is only 3.5 years old... -

I was just at the workshop...
The front right wheel bearing is broken, and it will be replaced on Saturday.
I'm curious to see what happens, and I'll definitely keep you updated. -

Hello Chris,
My suspicion from two months ago has been confirmed.
Can you upload a picture of the damaged bearing? I'm interested in seeing if it looks similar to the one in an Audi 80 B4.
Best regards!
Sebastian.

Hi!
Unfortunately, the wheel bearing has been in the trash for a long time!
The overall driving behavior has improved, and the rattling noise when cornering is gone. However, I still experience some wobbling at 70 km/h.
It feels like you're constantly driving over bumps in the road.
I still can't explain it to you... -

Hello.
I just read this post because I haven't been active in this forum for a while.
If the problem hasn't been solved yet: I experienced the same issues with a Golf 2. Initially, the knocking sound only occurred during acceleration, but later it also happened under partial load. When accelerating, everything was fine, but as soon as you took your foot off the gas --> knock, knock, knock... and a slight 'wobbling' feeling in the steering wheel.
War im Endeffekt der Antrieb. After that, everything was quiet.
There was already some play in the drive system. However, the usual effects when cornering with full steering lock were not present.
Best regards,
togu

Could this be happening to me already, with only 66,000 km? -
