EDC == MSG == Engine Control Unit.
It's located in the middle of the washer reservoir, which is the plastic part where the windshield wipers are attached.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Thank you for your tips!
Are there any other ideas besides MSG???
What else could I test before buying the expensive one?

Before we replace the MSG , I would like to investigate the track with the OT sensor, and I want to know where this sensor is located in the ALH TDI.
Is it at the crankshaft or the camshaft }?
Can I access it from the outside, or only if the engine is disassembled? Golf IV Variant TDI Sport Editrion 1,9/AXR

Hello, I would first run this part with VCDS (live data !!!) so that you can see if your engine is seeing the same RPM as your tachometer ???
Is your error related to the charge pressure regulation? Is it over or under? (Please post the error code).
As mentioned here, an error in the boost pressure automatically results in a reduction in the fuel injection quantity, either from the injection pump or the PD (presumably referring to a pump-injector). However, I believe this applies to the Alh engine with 66 kW.
with an EDC 15 V, it was .
Turning off the ignition only provides a reset function, but the error will reappear.
I honestly don't believe it's due to a faulty graphics card.
bye bye

Tell me, where is the EDC located?
I always thought this was part of the control unit.
Unfortunately, I can't find anything about that in my books.
I've checked it with VAG-Com before, but besides the mentioned error code, I haven't found any other anomalies.
Can this EDC be verified?
Does anyone know an address where someone performs something like that correctly? Golf IV Variant TDI Sport Editrion 1,9/AXR

Hi everyone, so EDC stands for (Electronic Diesel Control). Here's a link to a manufacturer:
http://rb-k.bosch.de/de/start/product_ds_1_edc_pkw.html
In the picture, however, is an EDC 16 engine control unit, which you don't have .
I can't say anything specific about the measurement block yet; I'll check it out tomorrow. You need to make sure that all the hoses connected to the loader are properly connected, tight, and not reversed when troubleshooting your issue!
I believe your machine is unable to handle the workload within the given timeframe (I'll spare you the explanation). Your control unit is certainly not defective; I would be surprised if it were!
However, you still have the option of measuring your boost pressure using a regular vacuum pump!
Attach that part somewhere to the intake manifold, after the turbocharger, of course . Accelerate in 3rd gear.
"Increase the speed from 2500 to 3500 revolutions per minute and report the increase in pressure."
bye bye

Hello everyone ,
I'm experiencing the exact same problem, but I have the 90 horsepower AGR engine.
I've been dealing with this issue for 130,000 km , and no one has been able to find the problem . All the workshops tried to identify the fault, but everything was unsuccessful , resulting in high bills . According to the Bosch workshop, I was told that the turbocharger was defective , so I replaced it, but the problem still persists . I've also replaced all the pressure regulators/sensors, but with no success . The next thing I would try is to replace the engine control unit, but the problem is that they are very expensive and not even available at junkyards.
It also bothers me that the engine shuts off during the ride and then restarts so that the error message disappears .

On the crankshaft or camshaft | .
On the crankshaft, near the transmission flange, unfortunately often well hidden behind the oil filter housing or other parts.
A relatively stiff, round cable runs from the donor unit to a 3-pin connector in a holder located in front of the main distribution box.
Since one of the three wires is a shield, the problem might be caused by a break or a missing ground connection in the shield. Gruß Ulf

As often mentioned here: If the boost pressure exceeds the defined limit for an extended period (e.g., >~5 seconds), the engine control unit (ECU) enters a limp-home mode. This usually happens during prolonged full-throttle driving or on inclines, when the maximum boost pressure is required. It seems to occur more frequently in tuned TDIs, because the fuel injection amounts are increased, which passively increases the boost pressure. The defined limit is 1.25 bar for the 110 hp engine and 1.15 bar for the 90 hp engine. I noticed on my G4 AHF that above 3500 rpm, the EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) no longer regulates the boost pressure back to the target value of 0.95 bar, but allows higher values. However, this can only be monitored with a boost pressure gauge. When a tuning box is installed, the maximum of 1.25 bar can sometimes be exceeded during prolonged full load --> resulting in an error code.
I haven't had this problem anymore since I added a diode to the signal path of the boost pressure sensor (forum search: diode tuning). Now, it regulates up to 1.2 bar in all speed ranges, but even under full load, it doesn't exceed 1.2 bar. The "tolerance limit" is shifted 0.2 bar upwards, so it would be around 1.4 bar. However, such modifications should only be done with a boost pressure gauge.
