Hi,
I would like to purchase a laptop or diagnostic device that allows me to read all error codes.
It's enough if it works with Golf 3 models or later.
Okay, I need some tips and suggestions from you about what I'll need for this.
Sure, here's the translation:
"Thank you in advance." Gruß, Coschi |

Then buy a laptop (e.g., on eBay) and, in the shop shown above, purchase an interface and the corresponding software. That will also . |

Okay... I'd rather do that with a laptop!
What requirements should a notebook meet in order to be suitable for that purpose? Gruß, Coschi |

A Pentium II should be sufficient. You should pay attention to a good battery. |

Okay.
Okay, now I know what kind of laptop I need!
What cables or adapters do I need to be able to use the 2x2 connection in my Golf 3?
and which cables are needed to connect to newer cars? Gruß, Coschi |

"This isn't a simple question to answer. "Newer cars" often have CAN bus diagnostics and require a CAN-compatible interface, such as the Golf 5, new A3 models, Touran, etc."
All interfaces come with the 16-pin OBD2 connector. For 2x2 sockets, corresponding adapters are available here in the shop http://shop.dieselschrauber.de/product_info.php/products_id/34.
Please note that newer versions of VAG-Com, specifically those above version 3.11, can only be used or unlocked in conjunction with intelligent interfaces that have a built-in dongle. Gruß

Okay, then I'll focus on the models up to the year 2000, was probably the limit, right? If so, what do I need? Gruß, Coschi |
