Hey everyone,
I tried disabling the EGR valve on my 110 hp AFN TDI this weekend.
I disconnected the vacuum hose from the turbocharger and plugged it with something. Then I started the car, but the turbo didn't engage at all, meaning the ignition was on but the engine was in limp mode!
What did I do wrong????? I reattached the hose to the can and everything went back to normal!!!!
Thank you in advance for your help!!
Monchi.

Hi,
You probably have:
- picked the wrong hose.
- or the wrong end was closed.
Best regards, Rainer.

Either that, or the EDC actually detected the 'faulty' EGR valve.
While it shouldn't happen in Germany, but in the US, there will be emergency procedures and flashing indicator lights.
Ultimately, the expected and actual air mass no longer match.
I'd like to know more about the error message.
