'Die Sonne scheint hell, und die Vögel zwitschern fröhlich. Ein leichter Wind weht durch die Bäume, und die Blätter rascheln leise. Es ist ein wunderschöner Tag, um draußen zu sein.'

Hello everyone,

I have a question.
I would like to read the CAN bus data from a 2003 1.9 TDI vehicle with an ASV engine, without ESP or automatic transmission.
Unfortunately, I couldn't detect any activity on the bus when I accessed it.
Can I activate the CAN bus from the control panel, gateway, and MSG modules using VAG-COM coding?
Can I switch to 'Automatic' mode without the MSG going into emergency mode, and can I log the CAN communication to the (non-existent) automatic transmission?

With ESP and automatic transmission, the CAN bus is active!
If I make a tuning change that can be switched via MSG coding, and a physical switch on the CAN bus is also 'open,' how does the control unit behave?

I am grateful for any assistance.

Regards,

Then the tuning is really badly done icon_confused.gif.
If done correctly, the dataset behaves exactly like it would with the 'correct' encoding icon_exclaim.gif.

Just so you know...

That's probably correct, but unfortunately, it doesn't help me with my problem.

I actually want to enable the CAN bus, and I'm hoping that this might be a possible way to do it.
A tuning is not currently being considered.

So, who has experience with refactoring?
Can I drive the car with the automatic transmission without any problems?
Or does the MSG go into emergency mode, limiting drivability, or something else?

Is it possible to activate the CAN bus via a switch?
As far as I know, the switch encoding for my control unit is 00002.
For other devices, such as the AEH, the CAN bus can be activated by setting a specific bit (e.g., 000?x, where ? = 1, indicating ABS is active and thus CAN is enabled).
Does this also apply to the ASV?
'Does anyone have an ASV (Anti-Slip Valve) with ESP (Electronic Stability Program)? In this case, the CAN (Controller Area Network) must also be active. How is it coded?'

Thank you for your help.

Best regards, Jochen.
