I've been hearing more and more about chip tuning through software updates for the engine control unit. Is that really a thing?
Is this more beneficial than traditional chip tuning?
Couldn't you easily do that yourself if you have the software and a diagnostic adapter?
Who knows this procedure?
Hello.
Yes, that exists. However, it should also be individually adjusted to your vehicle and your desired performance by an experienced tuner. It's essentially the same as chip tuning, except that the built-in chip is reprogrammed without opening anything.
Furthermore, there is no readily available software to create something like that on your own.
