MSG Tuning: Boost Performance & Power

Hello,

I have a Golf 6 CR 1.6 TDI with 90 hp. The engine code is CAYB, which is technically identical to the CAYC engine with 105 hp according to the SSP (Service Information). The difference in power is supposedly only due to different software.

Can I convert it by replacing the MSG? And how do I get the WFS working?

Certainly possible, but it will probably be easier.
A tuner simply plays the corresponding software, unlike replacing the main system board.
Perhaps Rainer will say something about the meaning/cost.

The warranty will be completely void in that case.

Doesn't it have a VDO Continental control unit? If so, tuning options are currently limited.

Okay, here's the translation:

"Thank you. As far as I know, the tuners for the MKB CAYB engine play a different software map compared to the CAYC variant. This means 110-120 horsepower instead of 125-140 horsepower for the CAYC. Regardless of any subsequent tuning, an MSG (Engine Control Module) for upgrading to 105 horsepower is available for approximately EUR 300.00. If the cost of adapting the water pump and thermostat (WFS) remains reasonable, this represents a relatively "cheap" 15 horsepower increase. Okay. There is no software solution on the market for these control units.

A swap due to different performance classes is not possible; in other words, even a new CAYC control unit cannot be simply connected to your existing WFS system.
