The VTG (variable transmission gear) can be moved about 1 cm back and forth without the can attached. When I disconnect the can, the lever is in its resting position, which is open.
Okay, but how can you be sure that the exhaust gases flowing backwards won't push the freely moving VTG (variable geometry turbine) towards the engine during operation?
To rule that out, I would somehow secure the valve travel gear (VTG) in the open position, even without the can.
Then the LD (lateral deviation) should not actually rise too high while driving.
"If I were to tighten the lock nut all the way against the housing, perhaps that would prevent it from loosening..." That might be a possible solution.
Okay, I used VCDS to log some data, and the boost pressure is increasing to about 2560 mbar, even though nothing has been disconnected! Then, the car goes into limp mode, at the latest around 120 km/h...
The electromagnetic valves have all been replaced and are now in order.
Is there anyone in Hanover who is a skilled diesel mechanic and willing to offer their services?
