Yeah, it seems like it's always the same story.

It would be interesting to know under what load conditions – whether it was during city driving, country road driving, or highway driving – the piston failed.

The 1Z, which I was talking about, happened while I was driving at full speed on the highway.


Yep, speedometer reading 195 on the A7 icon_rolleyes.gif. But, you can't really say the engine wasn't warm - I had already driven 300km.

The patterns of the jet streams are asymmetrical. Where the crack is, the two patterns are very close together when compared to the others.

Does this amount of oil not distribute itself within the intercooler system, and is it then fed to the engine 'slowly'? - After all, the intercooler has a large internal surface area that can temporarily bind a certain amount of oil on its surface........I've seen engines where oil has dripped out of the intercooler hoses after being removed (!) and they ran perfectly normally.

We had icon_rolleyes.gif approximately 2 liters distributed in the system on Monday. When removing the coolant reservoir, it was actually pouring out. It wasn't a gradual leak; the damage was noticed, and the car was stopped in time. But it seems like it was very close to failing. It's a driving school A3 with around 400,000 kilometers on the odometer. icon_wink.gif I think they won't be able to break the new turbo. icon_wink.gif

It would be interesting to see if cleaning can prevent sticking. Has anyone looked into this before?

Hello everyone, as far as I know, engine damage in Pumpe-Düse engines is a recurring problem across the entire range of VAG products, such as the Sharan, Galaxy, etc. (take a look at the Sharan, Galaxy, and Alhambra forums). This is especially problematic for engines that have been chipped (tuned). It's related to thermal issues, as you can see on page 8, which is particularly interesting.
