VAG-COM: Diagnose for Older ECUs

Okay, first, connect the diagnostic tool and turn on the ignition. Select engine control unit address 01. Then, go to the basic settings (04) and enter channel 00. You will now see 10 fields. Field 2 shows the injection time, and field 9 shows the fuel temperature. Compare these values with the specifications. If they are not correct, disconnect the fuel pump while the engine is off, so you can move it slightly. Start the engine, go back to the settings, and rotate the pump until the values are within the specified tolerance.
Turn off the motor. Tighten the pump securely. } Loosen and re-tighten all diesel lines to release any tension. } Reassemble everything. } Possibly clear any error codes. } Done!
