T4 Engine Knock: Possible Bearing Damage?

Hello.
I just had a T4, model year 2003, with a 102 hp TDI engine, taken to the workshop. The engine makes a knocking noise, similar to a bearing failure, which increases with increasing torque, but almost disappears at high RPM (4000). I completely disassembled the engine and couldn't find anything. The connecting rod bearings and injectors have been replaced. I drove the car up to the rev limiter and didn't notice any changes afterwards.
Does anyone have any other ideas? What about the sound of something burning?

Have you taken a look at your dual-mass flywheel?

Is the timing belt tensioner checked? Is it replaced?

Are the drive shafts being checked?

The driveshaft is ruled out because the knocking sound is present even when the vehicle is stationary.

ZMS is new. The tensioner is new.

Hmm, if it weren't torque-dependent, I would have probably suspected a vacuum pump issue or a stuck valve.

Perhaps you could describe the sound in more detail, or tell me what you've checked.
Is it temperature-dependent, etc., etc.?

I've now installed the complete nozzles from the AXG to rule out any issues caused by the needle lift valve and to experience the effect firsthand.
At first, the knocking sound was still present. Then, I took it for a test drive of about 30 km, and I also revved it up once during the drive. When I returned, the knocking sound was barely noticeable. I put the other injectors back in, and the knocking sound is still barely noticeable... and now what?

For the sake of completeness, are you sure the timing is correct?

Do you know the vehicle's history? Perhaps you could check the repair history; you might find something noteworthy there.
