Hello,

On my Golf V (model year 2005), it is possible to activate the automatic locking of all doors at 15 km/h by adjusting the comfort control unit -> adjustment -> channel 4.

My VAG partner also managed to do a good job with it, even though he wasn't really keen on it. And "as a punishment," he now wants to charge me 44 euros for it.

For this price, I would at least like the auto-unlock function to be activated (re-unlocking the doors when the key is removed).

It should also be possible to access it via STG 46 -> Adjustment -> Channel 5. But the person at the repair intake told me that this function would only be possible if the vehicle had an anti-theft system (and mine doesn't).

Does anyone have any experience with this, or is it just a way to get people to buy something?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Regards,
Wolfgang.

Someone was trying to brush you off. You might want to confront the relevant supervisor about it.

@Rookie, if you're copying data, please pay close attention to what you're copying. The 13-byte variant only applies to a very, very small number of vehicles. Therefore, it's advisable to first determine which comfort control module and model year the vehicle has. Then, you can specifically determine which long coding is required. Furthermore, the approach via adaptation channels is completely correct.
