Unterschied Webasto Brenner Diesel/Benziner Thermo Top C/Z

Since I'm still having problems with my STH Thermo Top C/Z, I now want to replace the burner (STH burner doesn't always work, but does after the automatic release).
I now have the opportunity to purchase a burner unit for the thermo top C/Z at a low price. However, it would require gasoline. My car is equipped with a STH for diesel fuel.
Could you tell me if there are any structural or functional differences between the two burner inserts?
The Webasto E-numbers are different.

I've just read your old thread.

Have you ever read out the error codes? You can also do this yourself. Diagnostic adapters are available cheaply in the shop, and the software can be downloaded from Webasto.

As far as I know, the burner is the main distinguishing feature of portable heaters.

In a diesel engine, the fuel is applied to a felt, where it evaporates, and then ignited by the glow plug.
The gasoline engine is directly placed onto another piece of cloth, and then ignited using a type of spark plug.

I haven't yet checked the fault memory. Although the STH is starting, it doesn't always burn but only on the second or third attempt. I suspect there are residues in the burner that are preventing the diesel from igniting.
I doubt that this is noted in the error log.

The gasoline burner is on the move.
I'll see if there are any major differences.

Hi,

Have you already disassembled your space heater? I had a similar problem, I had a Webasto heater, rebuilt with different electronics + control panel (since it was for Mazda with CAN-Bus), it was completely clogged! Cleaned, assembled, and it worked perfectly!

In the gasoline combustion chamber, there is also a filter at the back that looks like a fuel injector cleaner. And in front of it is the glow plug. If the camera would work, I could take pictures.

Okay, I have now received the gasoline burner and have found that the connection for the glow plug/flame guard does not match the connection for the diesel burner.
Secondly, there was a wire, approximately 1 mm in diameter, in the fuel line. However, I don't think this was a problem.

Unfortunately, I now have a brand new burner available.
If anyone is interested, they can contact me.

ps: At the old Brenner, there were again significant accumulations. Could this possibly be due to potentially short Brenner operation times?

as I now know, the procedure for installing the flame arrester on new burners (gasoline and diesel) has changed.
Can anyone tell me where I can get a new, suitable glow stick?
My Webasto dealer only offers complete burner and glow plug sets!!

Hello,

After I had 'adjusted' my 'old' glow stick for the new combustion chamber, the STH started working properly.

it seems that the combustion chamber is indeed a wear-and-tear part. unfortunately, Webasto does not offer the combustion chamber and the glow plug separately.

yes, for testing purposes, I would occasionally turn them on. Isn't that also recommended by Webasto?

Between the gasoline and diesel combustion chambers, I observed no discernible difference.

I have a gasoline combustion chamber with diesel fuel in use. So far, I haven't been able to detect any difference.
as far as I know, the difference between gasoline and diesel is only the frequency of the fuel pump!
but this information is provided without warranty.
