Starter Kit Not Working? Troubleshooting Guide

Hello, I have a question. I have an AZV motor lying around. I also have all sorts of VW documentation for this motor. However, the wire colors of the wiring harness don't match the colors in the wiring diagram. Now, I'm missing the adapter cable between the ignition switch and the steering column control unit (J527). I also don't have an ignition switch for it. The internal wiring of the ignition switch is shown in the documentation, but the pin assignments are not listed in the wiring diagram. However, there's a table that shows which pin (of J527) corresponds to which function. So, I connected it according to that table. However, that wiring is incorrect. I've already figured out how to turn on the ignition, but I haven't been able to start the engine yet. Nor have I been able to activate the 'X' contact. Does anyone have experience with this or have different documentation that might contain different information?
