I've recently been tinkering with the dataset for my Passi, and I've released a certain 10-cent portion at a rotational speed of 4473 RPM, with a value of 46mg.
Yesterday, I was actually thinking about how the turbocharger handles the exhaust gas volume flow in that engine speed range. After all, even with the VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) open and a high exhaust gas volume flow, a significant amount of boost pressure is generated.
What do you think - could the boost pressure control be "disabled" by such an intervention in this RPM range, or am I unnecessarily worried? |
Hi.
In principle, your thoughts are completely justified.
Beyond a certain exhaust volume, every turbine housing becomes too small, even with the variable geometry turbine (VTG) fully open, causing the turbocharger to overspin.
The number of reserves remaining (and the threshold defined as "over-revving"

) depends on the specific application or production file. Therefore, I would recommend cautiously approaching the maximum tuning amount while driving and logging MWB 11.
