Hello,

I'm pretty much finished with my conversion to a VNT20 turbo (Golf 3 AFN).
My main question is whether I can drive a few kilometers with original software installed without causing any damage.

Here are the most important details about the vehicle:

- VNT20 Turbocharger
- 0.260 nozzles
- Cylinder head machined.
- alternative intake manifold
- 70mm exhaust system.
- 60mm intercooler pipes.
- Raceware Standbolts
- 3-hole head gasket.
- Clutch
- large language model
- Camshaft: Original.
- Fuel injection pump: Original 10mm plunger.

I need to drive a few kilometers to a workshop so they can replace the fuel pump with a 12mm one and then tune the vehicle.
That's why the question.

Regards,
DJ.

Hi,

What kind of damage could result from using a serial charger and a slightly increased quantity?
It certainly isn't about this being a permanent situation. First, make sure the parts function as they should; anyone can just screw things on. icon_wink.gif
Whether this renovation is a good idea (which it isn't), I won't go into detail about it right now. I've written about it enough times already.

Best regards, Rainer.

Whether this renovation makes sense (which it doesn't), I won't go into detail about it right now. After all, I've written about it enough times already.

Greetings, Rainer

Hi Rainer,

I just want to make sure the number is correct - there's a few euros in it.
It's not a permanent situation; I mentioned that I still need to fine-tune everything before I can go all the way to the tuner.
Regarding the topic of simply attaching something: It's not actually that easy to attach a VNT20.
I didn't ask whether the conversion is sensible or not - it's definitely sensible if you want a lot of power under the hood icon_exclaim.gif, but I don't want to discuss that right now.
I've attached a test report from a system with similar hardware.

[Edit Admin: Report removed. If you have any further questions later, please ask there.]

So, I can now drive about 100 km with peace of mind.

Regards,
DJ.

Hi,

As I mentioned before, if you assemble everything correctly and the charging control system works, the 100km range should be no problem. However, your question suggests that you don't know exactly what's important in that regard, which is why I also strongly doubt that you will be able to ultimately assess whether everything is okay after the modifications are made.

No, it's not. It's nonsense for street use. But you can do it like that for a quarter-mile race.

I'm still going to write this, even though you're resistant to advice, for the following reason: Every "Heiner" (someone clueless) will read this and take the nonsense as gospel. This will result in a huge number of people contacting me and calling me, and I'll have to explain the exact same thing to them, repeatedly, just like I'm explaining it to you. I don't want to do that, especially when I have the power (because it's in my own forum) to stop such a pointless "job creation" initiative.

Therefore, I would ask you, if you already ignore well-intentioned advice, to only write in places where you feel comfortable and your opinions are valued.

Best regards, Rainer.
