Whining transmission on A4 2.5 TDI, 12/99

Hello.

'Recently, my A4's transmission (2.5 TDI, 12/99, 150,000 km) has been making a howling noise.' It's not audible during acceleration or when driving at a constant speed, but only when releasing the gas pedal, specifically when the clutch is engaged, and starting around 90 km/h.

What could be the cause? How do I get a diagnosis?

- In which gear does the noise occur?

- Description of the sound.
- Is the transmission leaking oil, or is the oil level okay?

I am trying to be more precise .

- 6-speed manual transmission, transmission code DQS.

- In which stage of the process does the noise occur: 4, 5, and 6?

- equally effective with a cold engine and a warm engine.

- is definitely a high-frequency sound, singing.

- The transmission is not leaking any oil, and the oil level is okay.

- The transmission oil was changed yesterday - no change.

I recorded it with my phone, it's a load change in 4th gear, between 2000 and 3000 rpm. Unfortunately, I can't upload it as an MP3, so I renamed the file from 'sound.mp3' to 'sound.jpg'.

I'm guessing it's either the transmission (specifically, the clutch) or the differential. For both, the transmission needs to be removed, so I'll start by seeing if you can get any other advice. Unfortunately, I don't have any .

Only the stock items, or all items? Does the price include installation and removal?

'1000 for everything, including installation and removal. I don't know if all the bearings were replaced or just the defective one. In any case, all the wheels had to be removed from the shaft (they had to be shrunk-fitted), which was quite complicated. It was done by a professional, and it's working perfectly again.'
