Blower Resistor for VW Polo 9N

Hello,

On a friend's Polo (9N, 2003), the blower motor only works on setting 4.
I think the pre-resistor is defective.
Does anyone know where it's located? Is it available as a separate part?

In the documentation, I found a resistor connected to the fan.
It should be for the fan speed.

Thanks for the information. Were you able to find out where this resistor is located?
Is the fan itself attached, or is it detached and located somewhere else?

According to the drawing, the part should be located to the left of the fan.

I think I'm going to have to remove the entire dashboard assembly, including the glove compartment, first.
From down here, I can't see anything.
I can see the two cables of the fan motor, but they seem to be going upwards rather than downwards.
Maybe someone else has an idea.
