Document A2 8Z0 MJ 2002, Window lifter not functioning (Solution)

Window lifters, door locks, and mirror adjustment/heating are not functioning.

Cause:
To improve the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) properties, an electronic component was replaced in the door control unit. This chip may be the cause of the crash in the door control software.
A complete failure of the components controlled by the door control unit may occur.

Solution:
A software reset can restore the full functionality of the affected door control unit.

The software reset can be performed by disconnecting the vehicle's battery or by removing the corresponding fuse in the fuse box (located on the lower left side of the dashboard).
Fuse No. 39: Right door, Fuse No. 41: Left door, both activated. The device should remain without power for approximately 30 seconds, after which the fuse can be reinserted, or the battery can be reconnected.

If the issue recurs shortly after being resolved, the door control unit needs to be replaced.
