Sunroof Calibration: Basic Settings

I'm having a problem with my sunroof. When I use the rotary switch to set the desired position, the sunroof doesn't do what I want . In other words, I set it to "CLOSE," but the sunroof thinks "OPEN" is better. If I switch it back and forth repeatedly, it usually eventually does what I want. In an emergency, I can use the timing of turning off the ignition to get it to the correct position. However, this can't be the intended way to use it, especially because I'm worried about the time when it stops responding altogether, especially when it starts raining.

How can you reset or recalibrate the roof? I once had an Omega, and with that model, you had to somehow turn on the ignition while pressing a rotating knob.
