Hello!
Okay, I'll start from the beginning.
I've been searching for half an hour, but I haven't found anything useful for my problem.
I have installed an AFN engine from a Golf 3 (year 1996) into a Corrado.
All cables connected to the ZE, and sufficient diesel is also provided.
The problem is the WFS (Immobilizer). The engine starts briefly and then shuts off after 1 second. So typical WFS. Then I brought in a "professional" who really knows how to handle this. So we took the engine control unit for the immobilizer, the engine control unit, and the reading coil (where I had taped my Golf key) from the donor Golf. After connecting the WFS control unit and reading through many wiring diagrams, it finally worked. It actually ran for 50 minutes while stationary. Then I turned off the engine for about 30 seconds to check all the fluids. (Of course, I had done this before, but better safe than sorry). So: Then I tried to start the engine again, but it started to malfunction again. The engine died after 1 second and also only started again after the 10th attempt. From then on, the WFS became very erratic, meaning that it would sometimes work and sometimes not.
Okay, so I thought: maybe the reading module needs the rotational movement from the bowl.
So, I also took the lock from the Spender Golf.
Unfortunately, without success.
Has anyone got any more ideas on how I can adjust the WFS appropriately?
I had also considered buying a STG without WFS, but that must be possible! Is the new key, perhaps, the right way to go?
I would be very grateful for any suggestions!
Best regards,
Daniel |

It is very likely due to reading difficulties. They often have a wobble when playing in a 3-on-3 game.
You will likely find the control unit without WFS unsatisfactory, as it includes an AFN without ever having been original. MfG. Michael

So, with a new coil, do you think it should be fixed?
Does she need to be re-trained, or how does she know it's the right key? |

Think about it. You don't need to "train" anything. The sensor module only receives the data transmitted by the transponder and forwards it to the control unit. MfG. Michael

Ok, then I'll try it with a new reading sprint. While I can't do it right now, as I'm traveling for work, I will definitely report back once I'm able to.
Thank you and best regards.
