I had this error message on a 2.0 TDI with 72,000 km (approximately 45,000 miles), manufactured in 2005, engine code BKD, and 4Motion drive.

Besides the error message, there was also a significant jerking or shuddering when turning off the engine.

After replacing the valve, everything is working again.

Part number of the old one is 038 128 063 G, the new one is 038 128 063 L. It costs €389!

Since the thing is so cheap, I took the old one apart.

In addition, the entire housing, including the electronics and gears, was filled with oil!
