Doku Golf 1J, Manual transmission, Difficult to shift gears (Solution)

Rope jumper, transmission difficult/hard to shift

Cause:
The shift lever pivot sleeve in the gearbox has torn at the spline (fine hairline crack) and is misaligned on the shift lever.


Solution:
Disconnect the external gear shift lever.
Gear shift lever with the hand, in the direction of reverse gear, (vertically downwards). Here, the shift lever should move smoothly, meaning it should be able to be pushed down without any noticeable resistance.
Is this not possible:
Remove the gear shift shaft and inspect the locking sleeve for damage (cracks). Possible: Part replacement/Gear control cable.
Warning: The gearbox control shaft must always be slightly {FREE}.
Let the crankshaft out of the housing!
