The coolant reservoir is completely full with clean, black engine oil up to the top edge.
so, etwa 0,5l. He has not squeezed anything out. Apparently, there is no coolant in the Möl.

1.st Guess: Oil/Water - Heat Exchanger, or Oil cooler.

Are there any other "known" potential failure points for this engine, such as: ZKD, ZK,...?

Hello!

Okay, I would also focus on the heat exchanger first.
These cause such problems, although rarely, I have experienced them.

Before undertaking larger actions with uncertain outcomes,
I had a great idea:
I've done it myself, but I haven't actually used it yet.

Disconnect the water hoses from the WT, and connect them to a piece of pipe.
Then the car should drive 100 km, which is no problem at all given the current temperatures,
and if then oil starts dripping from the water connections,
has been found.

Otherwise, I had also experienced the full range of problems, including a faulty head gasket, but this was often the case with Peugeot.
Or Cylinder head cracked, casting defect in cylinder head,
or Engine block cracked.
That, however, had its causes,
Once, the clever telecommunication people had heated the engine to its maximum temperature by burning it with marten bites, patched the hose with tape, and poured cold water into the hot engine.

The second engine block was damaged because there was some rubbery stuff in the coolant, which had created a leak in the head gasket.
There was also the crack visible.
Grüße, Steffen!

I was also considering this, but due to time constraints and after I found out that the oil coolers in this engine have already caused problems, I ordered a new one.

Either he is, or he isn't. If not, it will become more complicated.

The biggest problem is the contaminated coolant. The vehicle has been parked for 2 days. Let's see how much oil separates from the coolant. So far, it's still floating nicely on top, black. Let's see what the rest looks like.

Also a possibility. I always do it this way:

- Expand section
- Sealing a water connection
- connect a hose to the other fitting
- put it all in a bucket of water, and apply pressure with the hose

Okay, then everything is clear. icon_wink.gif

Feedback:

The heat exchanger has been replaced. Coolant remains verschandeln after about 2 months.

Overall, a huge mess and a lot of special waste, in order to get the cooling system free and verschandeln again.

The oil was up to the top of the equalization container, solid as pudding.

Okay, first, the equalization vessel was removed and the contents disposed of in used oil.
After repairing the engine with clear water, --> after 2 minutes of engine running, the container is full of oil again. Empty the container and repeat the process approximately 5 times.

Subsequently, the floating particles (clumps) were scooped out of the container using a type of spoon (still pudding). Everything while the engine is running (approximately 2000 RPM).

Reason: Keep the amount of special waste small.

I think that I have managed to get around 3-4 liters of pure milk, which I would otherwise have had to dilute.

Afterwards, the VW cleaner G052188A3 (5 liters) was used in 2 stages according to instructions, i.e., 2 fillings and then driven for 1/2 hour each time, after which it was drained and rinsed.

After x wash cycles, oil particles are still present, which settle in the reservoir after a few minutes of engine running.

Okay, so: 2 Becher Persil in das Kühlsystem geben, 15 Minuten laufen lassen und das Fahrzeug samt Persil für das Wochenende stehen lassen.

Then, it was warmed up and rinsed several times.

Result: Clean. icon_wink.gif

Finally, I would not recommend anyone to do this themselves if there are no sufficient opportunities for disposing of used oil. icon_exclaim.gif
