Removing the Climatronic control unit from a Volkswagen Golf 3

What tricks and techniques should be considered to remove the Climatronic control unit as a component from the dashboard?

What's the problem?

First, carefully pry off the control panel from all sides. Then, loosen and remove the four screws and pull it out. If that doesn't work, completely unscrew the frame (where the ashtray is located). This will give you easy access.

Actually, it's quite simple. I've never had any problems with it.

Broken plastic hooks are always annoying.
