Hello,

I used some of my free time during the holidays to build an adapter. Thank you to everyone who was involved in creating the instructions and other materials.
Okay, here's the translation:

'Now my question: there are no numbers 1-4 printed on my optocouplers!' How can I figure out which way to insert them into the etched plate without breaking anything?
I thought it was about the resistance of the diode, but it's infinite between every contact, probably because it's a type of LED.
Sorry if the question sounds silly, but I'm really only exploring this as a hobby.

Thank you, and have a wonderful Easter.

Hello,

If you're looking down at the PC 817 from above, the point you're referring to is the number 1. Then, you count clockwise. That means the 2 is on the same side, while the 4 is on the opposite side from the 1.
The rest can be easily reconstructed by comparing the layout and schematic diagram.

.1 4
2 3

Hi.

Most often, there is a marking next to pin 1, such as a circular indentation.
Or, at the "head" end, between pin 1 and the highest pin (in this case, pin 4), there is a kind of notch.

The counting is done in a counter-clockwise direction (when viewed from above).

Thank you for the quick responses.
Mine have a notch on the shorter side.
If you rotate it 90 degrees, there's a dot, and then it says ISP817. However, according to the counter-clockwise rule, the notches would connect to pins 1 and 2 instead of 1 and 4. According to the notch rule, 1 and 4 are adjacent, while 2 and 3 are on the opposite side.
It's strange, the spacing on Christian's etching plan would suggest that 1 and 2 (3 and 4) should be next to each other.
Is there anything else that might help with making a decision?

Sure, here's the translation:

'Note:'
'For better understanding:'

I always look from above.

The step is located on the surface at the top left edge.

Hi.

I'll send you a datasheet for the PC817, etc.

That should answer all the questions...

Okay, I'll try translating 'Kerbe von oben gesehen':

'Notch viewed from above.'
1. To the power of 4.
