I was just trying to read the error memory in our VW EOS using the latest software (VCDS RKS 1212). The software simply can't find any control units, and therefore can't detect any errors. This happens whether I query individual devices directly or start a general scan.
Vehicle: VW EOS 2.0 TSI, engine code BWA, manufactured in 2006.
When attempting to read the control units on a VW Bora, everything worked perfectly.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

If you may have accidentally changed any VCDS settings, please click the "Reset to Defaults" button in the program settings and try again.
If that doesn't work either, please click the "Test" button in the program settings (with the ignition on) and post a Screenshot of the dialog box that appears.
Unfortunately, my wife had the EOS today, so I won't be able to do that until tomorrow.
I will then follow your advice and reset the settings again.
I started the engine in the EOS.
