I made adjustments to the image processing control unit (A5) in a Passat B8.
- Steering wheel vibration not active.
- Warning intensity: Steering wheel vibration set to low.
Now I wanted to reset it again. But when I try to reset it, I get the message "Invalid value range," even though I'm trying to set it back to the original settings (on and medium).
I used software version 14.10.1.
How can I reset it?
VCDS diagnostic tool:
Address A5: Front/Forefield camera (R242) Label file: None.
Part number SW: 3Q0 980 653 A, HW: 3Q0 980 653.

ROD: EV_MFKBoschMQBB.rod

No error codes found.
I also have the log file from the DEBUG folder.
Address A5:3Q0 980 653 changed (Lane Keeping Assist warning intensity) from Medium to Low.
Address A5:3Q0 980 653 was recoded (ADP system mode, lane keeping assist) from "steering wheel vibration active" to "steering wheel vibration inactive".

Good evening.
Always save a complete vehicle scan during such procedures, ensuring that all data is uncorrupted.
Then copy the entire coding string and don't mess around with the checkmarks (where you might accidentally click something else or change something incompatible somewhere).
Best regards, Rainer.

I made these changes as an adjustment (see the image). I didn't go into the coding to make these changes, but rather used the adjustment settings. I was able to modify the adjustment, but I can't set the original value because I always get the message: "Invalid value." I should have the option to revert to the original setting.
Should I perhaps create a backup image of the control unit? Or do I need to take it to a workshop and have them reset the control unit to factory settings?

Hi there,
Please provide the complete ECU coding (screenshots), the overview for adjustment channels, and specifically the variations of the two adjustment channels in question.
Maybe you'll see something there.
Herbert.

I've now created a representation of the adaptation channels and also took a Screenshot of the encoding.
- In Lane Keeping Assist system mode, the setting "Steering wheel vibration not active" is now enabled. Previously, the setting was "Steering wheel vibration active."
- When the lane keeping assist warning intensity is set, it is currently configured to "Low." The original setting was "Medium." Additionally, there are options for "High" and a setting that can be adjusted through the menu.
It should be possible to revert to the original settings, but unfortunately, the message "invalid value range" appears.
Could it be due to the VCDS software?

I already tried the same thing with Beta 15.2.0. What else I noticed is:
When adjusting the steering wheel vibration settings, it sometimes overrides the selected values of "weak" and "not active," even though those options are already chosen. Other settings are not available.

I had already asked about something else, not a photo with the long code.
That was already in the scan.
Here's that thought again:
- Complete encoding of the control unit (screenshots), with each byte/bit labeled.
- an overview of adaptation channels,
- the variations of the two adaptation mechanisms in question;
It might be possible to figure out what's blocking the reversion of the adaptation.
Did you re-enter both changes together, or separately? Also, how did you make the first change?
Sure, here's the translation:
"Just answer, don't change anything!"

I made the changes one by one. I clicked on each option in the pop-up window and then applied it.
I have a question: where can I find the overview of the adjustment channels? I took a Screenshot; is this the overview you're referring to?
And where can I find the different versions?

Hello,
ich habe von Deinen n Bildern nun n-1 gelöscht. Why?
Because everything shows the same thing, namely that there are no texts for the bits, and the line with the green bytes ( 3) already contains everything. Nothing else is visible in the deleted images either.
Please post the contents of your `Coding.log` and `Adaption.log` files from the debug directory.
Best regards, Rainer.

I had asked about that before, but at the time of my question, it wasn't clear that there were no labels associated with these codings.

Here are the coding logs that I created using version 14.10 and beta version 15.2. There are no customization logs in the "Debug" folder.
The adjustments are visible as codings, even though they are clearly modifications.
On Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 18:27:17:26138, I first changed the steering wheel vibration setting from "Medium" to "Weak" using the 14.10 software version. Afterward, I tried to reverse the change. However, it's clear that it didn't work, as the display constantly shows transitions from "Weak" to "Medium," "Weak" to "Strong," and so on.
The entire process only works in one direction. If I try to reverse it, the control unit prevents it. I really don't know what else to do. Could it be a software issue? Should I wait for a newer version, or should I contact the software developer directly?

Thanks for the logs, I've sent an email and we'll see what happens.
There will probably be an update soon!
Best regards, Rainer.
