VP 44 Replacement Part

Given the facts of the VP44's inoperability, I would now like to address a question to the VP44 specialists on the forum:

What is part number 3, in the drawing in the appendix, at the height of the pump gear, for? (Is it a Simmer Ring, a bearing, or just spacer rings?)

Is the replacement possible without a COMPLETE disassembly?

da es nach Dichtring aussieht und da auch einer sein muß...
Möglicherweise läßt er sich ziehen, wenn das Antriebsrad demontiert ist.
