Hello, forum.

Early this year, information from various sources indicated that Pierburg was planning to release a 100% compatible replacement for the Bosch Mass Air Flow sensor with part number 028 906 461 (e.g., AJM PD...).

Unfortunately, there's been no further news about it. (I'm not referring to the well-known DC-LMM, which has a different identification number; its DC number was A 611 094 00 4icon_cool.gif.

Recently, I got a new Bosch mass airflow sensor from icon_biggrin.gif.

After that, the car barely ran at all.
The part was supposed to be new (a replacement).

After a lot of effort, they finally took it back, and I just managed to get my old one icon_twisted.gif.
They might have been upset because you didn't get my car detailed.

I'm fed up with these Bosch things and being without a car.
Therefore, one more time to everyone:

Does anyone know any more details? I hope this initiative by Pierburg (or Vauweh) doesn't fall through. Or is this just a complete fabrication?

Sure, here is the translation of the text from German to English:

'So long'

This phrase is a common way to say goodbye in English. It is similar to the German phrase 'Auf Wiedersehen'.

Here are some other ways to say goodbye in English:

* Goodbye
* Bye
* See you later
* See you soon
* Have a good day
* Take care

I hope this helps!

'Order the Pierburg part for the Mercedes 220 CDI, model years 1998-1999, with 95 kW. I've installed hundreds of these without any problems, and they provide full power. They cost around 60 euros from the aftermarket supplier (Birner). Alternatively, you can get the original Bosch part from VW for a trade-in price of 80-90 euros, with a warranty.'

Perhaps I didn't express myself clearly:

To the best of my knowledge, the Daimler Chrysler part number DC-LMM A 611 094 00 48 belongs to this vehicle.
It is also known that this one has a different identification code!

I am also aware that there are replacement Bosch mass airflow sensors available.

But:
1. My question was aimed at inquiring about the development of a new, suitable mass airflow sensor from Pierburg, because...
I am firmly convinced that these replacement parts are useless, with very few exceptions.
(In the early days of Bosch mass airflow sensor exchange programs, genuine new parts were actually shipped. When exchange parts were unavailable, a simple 'X' was added to the part number on the original Bosch packaging of the new mass airflow sensor.)

So far, I've experienced more problems with the older air mass flow meters than with the new one.

However, as mentioned above, there was once a rumor that Pierburg was supposed to develop a replacement for the Bosch mass airflow sensor.

From my perspective, I am firmly convinced that the LMM issue has not been resolved in any way; only the cost for the customer has been slightly reduced.

The problem would be solved if Pierburg actually brings a replacement for the original Bosch mass airflow sensor to the market (which was supposed to happen at the end of last year/beginning of this year!).

Why is that?

The replica Pierburg part could be just as bad quality as the BOSCH parts that you criticize.

... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Okay, it's possible, but I still think they're more robust.
'In any case, it would involve a completely different LMM (Lufft-Mengen-Messung - Air Mass Flow Measurement) development principle due to the different sensor measurements used for air flow management.'
