Good evening, everyone.

A woman and her daughter were driving a Volkswagen Golf, the model shown in the signature, when it broke down during rush hour in Potsdam. The clutch pedal was stuck and could be pressed all the way to the floor, but wouldn't return to its normal position.
I checked it out today, and sure enough, brake fluid is leaking from the master cylinder. I took it apart, and I saw a small O-ring that's supposed to seal it, but it's broken.

Now, to my question: Are there any manufacturers you would recommend, or should I buy it directly from VW?

Thank you and best regards.

Holger.

Hello!

Something like that isn't really that complicated, you know, when it comes to cylinders.
that you absolutely must buy it from the original source.
Good quality products are fine. They rarely break.

However, the process of bleeding the system is likely to be frustrating, as it often goes very poorly.
In an emergency - try from bottom to top.
Grüße, Steffen!

So, he's driving again.

As recommended, I installed Sachs. It went in relatively easily. I removed the battery and battery tray, which made it much easier to access. I bled the system using a bleeding device that applies pressure to the expansion tank. I've had this for many years, and it works great. It saves me from having to ask my neighbor for help, which also preserves my own beer supply.

Holger.
