Good evening, today I replaced my 23-byte (3C0 937 049 J) body control module with a 30-byte (3C0 937 049 AJ) one, and since then I've been experiencing several problems.
- Xenon high beam: Automatically dims after being switched on for approximately 3 seconds.
- Rear fog lamp: Right rear fog lamp defective (not installed, as it is located on the left side).
- Interior lights are not working (fuse is okay).
- Rear window defroster not working.
- Left low beam headlight not functioning.
"I was told that the control unit was a VW on-board network system, but it seems to actually be from a Seat (there's a setting labeled 'Seat lighting concept' or something similar). Even so, shouldn't it work in a Passat? Is there anything I can adjust through the access function to fix any errors? If so, what is the code?"
Best regards, Christian.

Hello Christian,
The simplest solution would be to install the correct control unit. Regarding the coding, you'll have to go through it byte by byte and bit by bit, comparing each function. However, I fear that won't be enough.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer,
What do you mean by the "correct" control unit? The AJ is actually a Passat control unit, so it should be correct, and many other 3C drivers have installed it without any problems.
I have already performed the process byte by byte and bit by bit multiple times, and I still have the same encoding as before, but the errors persist. What's surprising is the error related to NSL (Night Set Light) and the headlight, as if the vehicle's onboard network is configured for right-hand drive. However, without proper access authorization, it's not possible to perform any extended coding, and I don't know how to obtain the login code.
Best regards, Christian.

Your encoding: E38E8F2500041000430A80000F000000801B55435C000108000000000000
My encoding: E78A8F6B01281A00570A00000F000000000F5D7032000100000000000000
I also have Xenon, so you can directly compare the Xenon-specific parts.
The only potential limitation might be that I had previously installed an additional reverse light (on the right side). You don't necessarily need to include this detail. Also, you should naturally check the relevance of each item individually.
Greetings.

The 30-byte configuration file needs to be encoded differently than the 23-byte one. You really need to check what the previously set bits mean (in the extended encoding assistant) and then see where those bits are located in the 30-byte file, and click accordingly.
