Climate Control Malfunction: Photosensor Issue

The automatic climate control in my Seat Altea (year of manufacture 2006) malfunctions and starts behaving erratically above a certain level of brightness.
During the day, even though the temperature is set to the same value, different temperatures are applied in the climate zones.
The driver's side is cooled, while the passenger's side is heated.
There are no error codes stored in the system's memory.
However, I noticed that when I covered the photosensor in the dashboard, both zones of the air conditioning system started heating up again.
Everything works perfectly fine at night as well.
How can I use VCDS to check the function or setting of the photosensor?
