Hello everyone, and thank you for this great forum and the wonderful community.

Having had the opportunity to research and find valuable information here, I would like to share some of my knowledge and experiences in order to further enrich the forum.

The attached document (original creation) describes the repair of a turbocharger for the 1.9 TDI engine manufactured by the Volkswagen Group, featuring a pump-injector system and the engine code ASZ (96kW/130PS).

I would like to submit this document as a "technical article." Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the procedure for that.
I would be very grateful for a tip.

Best regards, toxic89.

Hello,

nice. But how did you grow out of those running shoes?

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello Rainer.
The supplied main body assembly consisted of a balanced unit comprising: a housing, a shaft with gears, and bearings. Balancing was not required.
Best regards, Kevin.

Could you perhaps add something to illustrate that?
- an image of the integrated charger (hull assembly with both housings);
- how the hull assembly was disassembled;

Hello Herbert.
Thank you for your suggestion.
Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures of the repair process, and I also can't edit the post right now. This is likely only possible within 720 minutes of the topic's creation.

Regarding the image material:

- an image of the integrated charger (hull assembly with both housings):

You can find images of the complete turbocharger by using the search term "GT1749VA" in relevant search engines.

- how the hull assembly was disassembled.
From the old hull assembly, I only removed the shaft to inspect the seal. The only noteworthy thing is that the shaft on the compressor side has a left-hand thread. After the motor has been removed, the shaft can be carefully extracted from the compressor wheel using gentle taps (with a rubber hammer).
The entire hull assembly was replaced for the repair. The new part was already fully assembled and balanced.

Best regards,
Kevin.

Hello Rainer.
Thank you as well!
The last image (GT1749VA_mit_Detail_Rumpfgruppe.jpg) is not mine. I created one image from just two.
I had noted the source in square brackets...[Source: KS-Turbo, 10/2018]... or something similar.
However, in principle, you can also find these images online, even if they infringe on copyright.
Best regards,
Kevin.
